Things that make you go hmm...

So Josh was admitted on Wed. afternoon to CDH. The red line around his shunt had gone away after only a few hours, but his temperature and electrolytes were way out of whack. The poor little guy was famished and quite upset after going without food for a very long time while the doctors were running tests and trying to figure him out. On Friday it was decided that he should go to Children's Memorial to figure out what is wrong and how to treat him. So Josh and dad went for a ride to the city in the ambulance together. Josh likes to keep everyone guessing, so after many more tests at Children's (and another day without food) the doctors still have not been able to determine what is wrong. The infectious disease doctor is unsure of what is going on and is in the middle of calling on a world renowned ID doc to figure out how long he should be on antibiotics for since it is unclear what the problem is to begin with. It is possible that he will be coming home in a few days and we still won't know what has happened over the past week. It may just be a Josh thing! Luckily his feedings were restarted today and Josh has finally been able to relax and catch up on some much needed rest! (Feel free to click on the photo album link to see the journey so far.)

The Letter by Newsboys
I wrote you a letter
Things could be better
Full of promises, every hope and dream
Did you get it
Have you read it
Talks about you and me
And the future, you see
Something no one can do
Is take the place of you
Can't you see you’re....one of a kind

CHILD, YOU'RE LIKE A STAR
SET APART
SET APART FROM THE START OF THE WORLD
THIS IS YOUR TIME
RISE AND SHINE
CHILD, YOU’RE ONE OF A KIND

Sometimes every thing’s too much
Like the deepest cut
You hurt to be touched
When you hear it
If you feel it
Don't let it have its way
I'm writing to say
Something no one can do
Is take the place of you
Oh can't you see you’re...one of a kind

CHILD, YOU'RE LIKE A STAR
SET APART
SET APART FROM THE START OF THE WORLD
THIS IS YOUR TIME
RISE AND SHINE
CHILD, YOU’RE ONE OF A KIND

I know it's hard to hear promises
When the blue has turned to grey
Nobody said it was easy
But I know you'll find your way

CHILD, YOU'RE LIKE A STAR
SET APART
SET APART FROM THE START OF THE WORLD
THIS IS YOUR TIME
RISE AND SHINE
CHILD, YOU’RE ONE OF A KIND
